2017 In-House Creative Industry Report

This seventh edition of our annual benchmarking reports on trends and issues affecting the in-house creative community and shares strategies that leaders can use to validate the direction of their in-house creative departments.

More than 375 leaders from in-house creative departments participated in our survey conducted in January 2017. These leaders represent Fortune 1000 companies, as well as middle market and other large companies, and span multiple industries including but not limited to banking/financial services, consumer products, education, healthcare, manufacturing and not-for-profit.

Creative leaders shared their stories as they relate to shared challenges and goals across the industry. Topics cover the new paradigm shift of in-house creative teams, managing outside creative agencies, becoming a strategic partner and AOR, consolidating and evolving a large digital design team and the impact of process improvement.

Pulse Survey Reports
In support of our consulting engagements and at the request of our clients, we design short surveys to uncover benchmarks related to specific topics, such as time tracking practices, account management models, funding models, project turnaround times, and more. The resulting reports and related findings are distributed to survey participants in gratitude for their contribution.
